Job summary

Apleona UK is recruiting a Care Assistant to be based at our facility in Tullamore, Offaly, Ireland. The role focuses on supporting residents with daily living tasks and monitoring health needs.

Shift pattern is 24 hours per week, with flexibility for day and night shifts. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, document interventions, maintain records, and ensure safety and compassionate care in line with policy.

Qualifications

  • Minimum QQL 5 qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service.
  • Decision making and attention to detail.
  • Right to work in Ireland; Garda vetting required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report patients’ health needs and update care plans.
  • Support administration of medications and treatments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate with physicians, nurses, and support staff.
  • Document interventions and patient responses; maintain records.
  • Ensure safety, PPE usage, and respond to emergencies per policy.
  • Assist with personal care, meals, and mobility aids.

    At Apleona, we are always on the lookout for talented and dynamic individuals to join our team. We are currently recruiting for a Care Assistant to be based at our facility in Tullamore, Offaly.

    Shift Pattern: Monday - Sunday, 24 hours per week

    ***Applicants must be flexible, as the role may require both day and night shifts***

    Main duties and responsibilities

    • Monitoring and reporting patients’ health needs. and contributing to the development of care in care plans and complete interventions as described.
    • Supporting the administration of medications and treatments as prescribed, and providing emotional support to residents.
    • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
    • Communicating effectively with physicians, nurses, support staff, and external allied health practitioners.
    • Participating in team meetings, handovers, and performance reviews. and maintaining patient records.
    • Documenting all interventions and patient responses, and ensuring compliance with best practice.
    • Responding to emergencies and providing immediate care as per policy. and collaborating with emergency response teams as needed.
    • Working in accordance with Health & Safety standards and using the provided personal protective equipment.
    • Demonstrating flexibility in response to business changes, development, and the review of best practices.
    • Helping clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, hair care, shaving, dressing, and undressing.
    • Helping with meal preparation, considering dietary preferences and restrictions.
    • Reporting any changes in the individual’s condition or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
    • Monitoring individuals for safety and aiding in preventing accidents.
    • Assisting with the use of mobility aids, such as walking of wheelchairs.
    • Staying informed about the specific needs and conditions of the individuals under care.
    • Ensuring the client’s dignity and independence and honouring the preferences/choices of individuals under care.

    Qualifications and experience
