Esquires Coffee Ireland in Mallow is hiring a Cafe Assistant for a full-time, on-site position. You will prepare and serve coffee and food, maintain a clean workspace, handle counter orders and payments, and restock supplies with a collaborative team.

Flexible shifts, including weekends, are required and training will be provided. The role focuses on friendly, efficient customer service, quality presentation, and contributing to a welcoming cafe environment for guests throughout busy service

Role Description

The Cafe Assistant role at Esquires Coffee Ireland in Mallow is a full-time, on-site position. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and serving coffee and food items, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and delivering friendly, efficient customer service. The Cafe Assistant will manage orders at the counter, handle payments, and ensure that food and beverages meet quality and presentation standards. The role also involves restocking supplies, supporting opening and closing procedures, and working collaboratively with the team to create a welcoming environment for guests. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills, with a friendly and professional approach to engaging with guests.
• Experience or ability in food preparation and food service within a café, restaurant, or similar environment.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards in food & beverage settings.
• Interest in coffee and beverages, with willingness to learn barista skills and product knowledge.
• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Good communication skills and basic numeracy for handling orders and payments.
• Previous experience in hospitality or retail is an advantage but not required; training will be provided.
