Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a CAD/BIM Design Technician for a leading contractor in Ireland. You will produce accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings, BIM models and technical documentation to support specialist construction projects.

The ideal candidate will interpret client requirements and architectural drawings, developing practical, buildable design solutions while coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience within a CAD, BIM or technical design environment.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit/BIM software required.
• Background within construction, manufacturing, engineering, architectural design or a related technical environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate design concepts into practical solutions.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings, BIM models, schedules and technical documentation.
• Interpret architectural drawings, specifications and client requirements.
• Develop practical design solutions suitable for manufacture, installation and construction.
• Support the design process from initial concept through to project completion.
• Assist with design coordination, technical queries and drawing revisions.
• Liaise with internal teams, clients, suppliers and project stakeholders to ensure accurate project delivery.
• Provide technical support during tender and pre-construction stages.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations and project requirements.
• Support continuous improvement of design processes and BIM capabilities.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings, CAD designs and BIM models to support the delivery of specialist construction projects.

Working within a collaborative design team, the role will involve interpreting client requirements, architectural drawings and project specifications to develop practical, buildable solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, project managers, suppliers and external stakeholders to ensure designs are coordinated and delivered effectively.
