Job summary

Creative Wood Kitchens in Westport, Co. Mayo, is seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker to join our workshop team. You will manufacture high-end bespoke kitchens and furniture, reading technical drawings and using power and hand tools to deliver excellent finishes.

The role is full-time, based in our Westport workshop with occasional site work for installations. You will work independently and as part of a close-knit team, maintaining quality and meeting project deadlines.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have 3+ years in cabinetmaking within kitchen or fine furniture sectors.
• Experience working on bespoke furniture projects.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings and dimensions.
• Excellent practical knowledge of power and hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good problem-solving skills and initiative.

Creative Wood Kitchens is a bespoke kitchen design and manufacturing company based in Westport, Co. Mayo. With over 33 years of experience, we specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of high-end bespoke kitchens, built-in furniture and freestanding furniture.

Due to continued demand for our work, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Cabinet Maker to join our close-knit team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong eye for detail and is committed to producing high-quality craftsmanship and an excellent finish on every project.

Key Responsibilities:

This is an immediate start, full-time position based primarily in our workshop in Westport.

You will work on a variety of bespoke projects, using your experience and craftsmanship to manufacture high-quality kitchens, built-in furniture and freestanding furniture pieces.

The role will be predominantly workshop-based, with occasional site work for fit-outs and installations as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Manufacturing bespoke kitchens, built-in furniture and freestanding furniture to a high standard.
• Working accurately from technical drawings, plans and dimensions.
• Using a range of power and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Managing multiple projects and working efficiently to agreed deadlines.
• Taking responsibility for the quality and finish of your work.
• Working independently and using your own initiative when required.
• Working positively as part of an experienced and supportive team.
• Solving practical problems and making sound decisions when required.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised workshop.

Requirements & Skills:

The successful candidate will have:

• A minimum of 3 years' cabinetmaking experience, ideally within the kitchen, cabinetmaking or fine furniture sector.
• Proven experience working on bespoke furniture projects.
• The ability to confidently read and understand technical drawings and dimensions.
• Excellent practical knowledge and experience using relevant power and hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to use your own initiative.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
• Good communication skills and a positive, flexible approach to work.
• A tidy and organised approach, with respect for the shared workshop environment.

Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification are preferred, but not essential.

A full driving licence is preferred but not essential.
