Responsibilities
- Event Setup & Management
- Supervise and lead the night C&B team to ensure all function rooms are set up according to event orders and hotel standards.
- Conduct regular checks of event spaces to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and readiness for the next day\'s functions.
- Oversee the safe storage, movement, and setup of C&B furniture, linen, and equipment.
- Ensure all meeting and event rooms are correctly stocked with amenities (water, stationery, etc.).
- Support with light food and beverage service for late events or setups as required.
- Communication & Coordination
- Liaise with the day team and C&B management to ensure seamless event handovers.
- Maintain effective communication with all departments regarding overnight requirements or issues.
- Complete nightly reports and handovers for the C&B management team.
- Team Leadership & Training
- Train, coach, and motivate night porters and setup staff to maintain high standards of service and efficiency.
- Provide guidance to ensure the team works safely, efficiently, and in line with hotel procedures.
- Health, Safety & Security
- Monitor and maintain health and safety standards, including fire safety procedures and manual handling protocols.
- Ensure all areas are secure and left in accordance with hotel policies at the end of shift.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Conference & Banqueting or Events operations role, ideally in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage a small team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining luxury service standards.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during night operations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Knowledge of health & safety, manual handling, and fire safety procedures.
