Job summary

Centra in Cork is seeking a Buyer to join our fast-paced retail team. You will source and purchase food products, beverages, packaging and store supplies, identify opportunities with suppliers, and negotiate prices and delivery schedules to secure best value.

You will monitor stock, maintain records, assess product suitability, support the procurement process, and contribute to a smooth operation while working 39 hours per week on a full-time, permanent basis.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Buyer or in a similar purchasing/procurement role.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier coordination and stock management.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase food products, beverages, packaging and store supplies in line with Centra operational requirements.
• Identify suitable purchasing opportunities from suppliers and distributors.
• Negotiate prices, terms and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
• Monitor stock requirements and support the timely availability of products across the store.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, supplier details and stock information.
• Assess product suitability, quality and commercial value before purchase.
• Support the overall procurement and supply chain process.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
