Job summary

Morgan McKinley, on behalf of a leading manufacturing organisation in Ireland, is recruiting a Buyer to join the procurement team. You will own designated categories, develop supplier relationships, negotiate price, and drive commercial value, supply continuity, and continuous improvement within a dynamic business environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product launches and business projects, while maintaining accurate supplier information and procurement

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a Buyer in food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Experience managing raw materials or production-related categories.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Experience supporting cost reduction initiatives and contract negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned categories, ensuring best-practice buying processes, competitive sourcing, and delivery against procurement KPIs.
• Develop and implement category strategies through supplier evaluation, market analysis, and risk assessment.
• Build, manage, and develop strategic supplier relationships to drive performance, quality, service, and value.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement plans where required.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Technical, Finance, and NPD teams to support new product launches and business projects.
• Maintain accurate supplier information, pricing, and procurement data within ERP/MRP systems.
• Assist with supplier quality issues, non-conformances, and corrective action plans.
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure security of supply.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage assigned categories, ensuring best-practice buying processes, competitive sourcing, and delivery against procurement KPIs.

Key Requirements:

• Experience managing raw materials or production-related categories is highly desirable.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation experience, with the ability to deliver commercial value.
• Experience supporting cost reduction initiatives and contract negotiations.
