Job description

As they continue to grow their presence in the foodservice sector, we’re looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager and driven individual to lead this exciting part of our business.

The Foodservice Business Development Manager will be responsible for expanding our clients footprint in the foodservice channel across Ireland. This is a hands-on, strategic role requiring a blend of commercial acumen, relationship building, and a passion for great food.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities within foodservice – including wholesalers, distributors, contract caterers, QSRs, and hospitality groups.

Account Management:

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with key accounts; manage pricing, promotions, and joint business planning to drive mutual growth.

Channel Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a channel-specific sales strategy in line with overall objectives.

Category Development:

  • Work with customers to understand their needs and recommend the best product solutions for their menus.

Brand Representation:

  • Represent our client at trade shows, customer meetings, culinary events, and foodservice forums.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams including Marketing, NPD, Production and Supply Chain to ensure customer satisfaction and innovation alignment.

Sales Reporting & Forecasting:

  • Monitor sales against budgets and forecasts, by product and customer, track progress against targets, and provide regular reporting to the Commercial Manager.

Work Environment:

  • Maintain a clean and neat working environment, ensuring high standards of housekeeping

Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Promote and implement sustainability initiatives within the sales department to align with the company's environmental goals.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in foodservice sales or business development, preferably within FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Strong network within Irish and/or UK foodservice sector.
  • Proven ability to win new business and manage key accounts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Passion for food and understanding of the chef and catering world.
  • Commercially astute with experience in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Full, clean driving license and willingness to travel.
  • Ability to embrace the values into all areas of your role.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Listens to the “voice of the customer” while assuring that commitments to customers are not made unless they can be achieved to the highest standards.
  • Strong IT and organisational skills.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Culinary background or strong food knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with sustainability-focused brands.
