About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Data Centre Business Development Manager to lead the growth of its Data Centre business across Ireland and the wider EMEA region.
This is a strategic, high-impact role focused on identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities within one of the fastest-growing sectors in the market. Working with consultants, general contractors, co-location providers and end users, you will be responsible for building a strong pipeline of opportunities and converting them into significant project wins.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding market presence and driving long-term growth within the mission-critical infrastructure sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic business development plan for the Data Centre market across Ireland and selected EMEA territories.
- Identify, develop and secure new project opportunities with consultants, contractors, developers, co-location providers and end users.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Data Centre ecosystem.
- Create and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities to achieve ambitious growth targets.
- Provide market intelligence on customer activity, industry trends and competitor developments.
- Collaborate with internal technical, commercial and project delivery teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Represent the business at industry events, conferences and networking forums.
- Lead commercial negotiations and support the successful closure of high-value opportunities.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- An established and active network within the Irish Data Centre market.
- Proven business development, sales or commercial leadership experience within the Data Centre, critical infrastructure, HVAC or related sectors.
- A successful track record of securing and delivering complex projects valued between €500,000 and €5 million.
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills.
- The technical credibility to engage effectively with consultants, engineers, contractors and end users.
- Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
- A results-driven approach with the ability to work independently and influence key decision-makers.
- A well-developed network within the Irish Data Centre sector is considered critical to success in this role. The successful candidate will be able to leverage existing relationships to significantly reduce the typical 18-24 month business development cycle and accelerate project opportunities.
