Business Development Executive

Reporting to: Furniture Category Manager

We’re now looking for an ambitious Business Development Executive to drive growth and new business in our furniture and interiors category.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Furniture Category Manager, you will lead on growth and new business development of the furniture category, supported by a dedicated interiors and project team who will support with proposals, design right through to delivery/install and project completion.

This is a new business focused role, ideal for a proactive salesperson who thrives on winning clients, opening doors, and building long-term relationships in both the corporate and public sector.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Drive new business - Identify, approach, and win new corporate and government clients, securing long-term partnerships for Codex.
  • Create tailored outreach strategies and meet with key decision-makers across various industries
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads, ensuring consistent growth and conversion to sales.
  • Develop client solutions, work with customers to understand their needs, prepare tailored proposals/quotations, and present creative, cost-effective solutions with support from the Furniture team.
  • Serve as the main contact for high-value projects, ensuring client satisfaction and project delivery in collaboration with design and operations teams.
  • Support tender submissions, sourcing, and product selection with the Category Manager.
  • Represent Codex at client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the broader sales team to expand the Furniture & Interiors offering and stay informed on market trends and competitors.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

To be a great fit for this role you will have:

  • 4+ years’ experience in business development or B2B sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities.
  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to manage your own pipeline to meet and exceed targets.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and the resilience to thrive in a target-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Experience in the furniture, interiors, or workplace solutions industry is a bonus but not essential
  • A full, clean driving licence
