Job summary

Tuath Housing Association in Dublin is seeking a Building Services Engineer to deliver reliable M&E services for residents. The role provides guidance on heating, plumbing, electrical systems and building compliance, with agile working and access to the Dublin office.

You will diagnose faults, manage M&E works programmes and service contracts, inspections, and collaborate with internal teams, authorities and residents to maintain safe, affordable housing.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification (Level 6 NFQ or above) in Building Services Engineering or related field.
• Or Plumbing/Electrical trade with 5 years minimum post qualification experience.
• Full clean Driving License.
• Experience in building services in domestic buildings.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on heating, plumbing, electrical, drainage and other M&E services.
• Assist with diagnosing faults and recommend repairs on M&E systems.
• Manage M&E works programmes and costs.
• Undertake pre & post inspections of repair, service and maintenance work and produce reports.
• Manage service contracts of M&E repairs and upgrades.
• Assist with management of planned and cyclical maintenance using Building Asset Database.
• Collaborate with internal teams on property, compliance and regulatory matters.
• Liaise with OMCs, Local Authorities, Residents and other stakeholders.

Job Summary

The Building Services Engineer deals with all aspects of Building Services to provide a responsive, quality and efficient service to residents. Agile working with access to the Dublin office. Valid driving licence and use of a car for business purposes is required.

CORE DUTIES

Mechanical & Electrical

• Provide technical guidance and specification on heating systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, drainage systems and other M&E services as required.
• Assist with diagnosing faults and recommend suitable repairs on M&E systems.
• Manage M&E works programmes and costs.

Management of Planned, Cyclical and Reactive Servicing & Maintenance

• Undertake pre & post inspections of repair, service and maintenance work and producing detailed and accurate reports.
• Undertaking management of service contracts of M&E repairs and upgrades.
• Assist with the management of planned and cyclical maintenance programmes using a Building Asset Database.

General

• Collaborate with internal teams on property, compliance and regulatory matters.
• Liaising with OMC's, Local Authorities, Residents and other stake holders.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications and Experience

• Suitable candidates will have a 3rd level qualification (Level 6 NFQ or above) in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Or Plumbing/Electrical trade with 5 years minimum post qualification experience.
• Full clean Driving License.

Essential Skills and Competencies

• A strong understanding Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing.
• Experience in diagnosing and managing repairs to domestic buildings.
• Familiar with Technical Guidance Documents, building compliance and Irish Standards.
• A sound knowledge of contract management and working to procurement regulations.
