Job summary

• Degree or diploma in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in building services engineering or construction environments.
• Strong knowledge of building services coordination and construction processes.
• Experience with MEP drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience liaising with design teams, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate building services activities with architectural, structural and civil elements of the project to ensure an integrated construction approach.
• Review and interpret MEP specifications, service drawings, architectural drawings and structural details, identifying coordination issues and resolving them.
• Liaise closely with the design team, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure works align with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Assist with planning and sequencing of building services installations to align with project milestones.
• Monitor progress on site and identify any issues impacting project delivery.
• Support procurement by reviewing technical requirements, specifications and subcontractor information.
• Review technical submissions, shop drawings and material proposals.
• Assist with preparation and management of technical submittals, RFIs and design information.
• Ensure installations meet quality, safety and performance standards.
• Coordinate and oversee testing, commissioning and handover of building services systems.
• Assist with O&M manuals and handover documentation.
• Prepare tender documentation with specifications, schedules and technical information.
• Attend site and coordination meetings to resolve issues.

PE Global Recruitment are currently working with one of Ireland's leading Construction organsations to recruit Building Services Engineers for projects throughout Dublin.

The role:

Our client is currently recruiting Building Services Engineers to join projects across Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers to work on a diverse range of construction projects, taking responsibility for the coordination, delivery and commissioning of building services from initial specification and procurement through to project completion.

The successful candidates will work closely with project managers, design teams, subcontractors and other construction disciplines to ensure that all mechanical and electrical building services are fully coordinated, installed to the required standards and delivered in line with the project programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate building services activities with architectural, structural and civil elements of the project to ensure an integrated construction approach.
• Review and interpret MEP specifications, service drawings, architectural drawings and structural details, identifying potential coordination issues and resolving them with the relevant teams.
• Liaise closely with the design team, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, programme requirements and company standards.
• Assist with the planning and sequencing of building services installations to ensure they align with overall construction activities and project milestones.
• Monitor progress on site and identify any technical, design or programme issues that may impact the successful delivery of the project.
• Support the procurement process, including reviewing technical requirements, specifications and subcontractor/supplier information.
• Review technical submissions, shop drawings, material proposals and other relevant documentation.
• Assist with the preparation, review and management of technical submittals, RFIs and design information.
• Ensure building services installations are completed to the required quality, safety and performance standards.
• Coordinate and oversee the testing, commissioning and handover of building services systems.
• Assist in ensuring all commissioning documentation, certificates and records are completed and maintained.
• Manage the submission and compilation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and handover documentation.
• Assist with the preparation of detailed tender documentation, including specifications, schedules and supporting technical information.
• Attend site meetings and coordination meetings as required, providing technical input and assisting in the resolution of issues.
• Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders and ensure relevant information is communicated to the appropriate teams.
• Carry out other project-related and ad hoc duties as required.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree, diploma or relevant qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a building services engineering or construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of building services coordination and construction processes.
• Experience working with MEP drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience liaising with design teams, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Good understanding of construction programmes, sequencing and project delivery.
• Experience with the testing, commissioning and handover of building services would be an advantage.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
