Job summary

Tyrell in Dublin is expanding its broadcast engineering team with a Junior or mid-level engineer who loves the nuts and bolts of Broadcast, Post, VFX and Animation. A passion for technology and a willingness to learn will be valued as we provide product training.

The role includes phone, remote and on-site support, system installation and upgrades, and managing support cases in our MS Dynamics CRM. Occasional travel for installations and manufacturer training is expected, with growth

Qualifications

  • A fast learner with problem solving skills.
  • Cloud technologies knowledge is a plus.
  • Live studio production systems and live streaming practices are beneficial.
  • Post-production workflows and editing knowledge are advantageous.
  • Cloud-based technologies experience is helpful.
  • Avid ACSR certification or practical Avid experience is advantageous.
  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across teams and levels.
  • Ownership mindset and collaborative approach to issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide phone, remote and on-site support to existing and new customers.
  • Install and configure new systems; upgrade existing systems.
  • Create, update and follow up on support cases in MS Dynamics CRM.
  • Organise repairs, replacements and returns of faulty equipment.
  • Demonstrate Tyrell's product portfolio to customers.
  • Contribute to Tyrell newsletters, whitepapers and knowledgebase.
  • Research current and emerging products, workflows and technologies.
  • Participate in ad hoc company projects requiring technical input.
  • Assist in developing opportunities for professional services and support.
  • Attend trainings, events and webinars to stay up to date.
  • Take active interest in Tyrell and the wider IT services landscape.
  • Ensure customer deadlines are met and manage expectations with sales.
  • Undertake ad hoc assignments and special projects under department guidance.

Job description

Tyrell are looking to expand our broadcast engineering team in Dublin. If you or any of your contacts with a love for the nuts and bolts of Broadcast, Post, VFX and Animation are looking for your next roll

The Tyrell support team are a critical partner to some of the UK and Ireland’s biggest broadcasters, facilities and brands. We’re looking for a Junior or mid-level engineer with the drive, charm and a can-do attitude to help us and our customers grow.

Experience of Avid workflow, IP Streaming, Broadcast Operations or Pro Audio would be beneficial but most important is the right personality and a passion for technology, we’ll provide the product training.

Overview

Reporting to the Support Manager. The Support Engineer is responsible for carrying out technical support duties for Tyrell’s customer base.In-house training is provided to enable individual to perform these duties. The position does involve travel for installations, upgrades and on-site manufacturer training, which may have an international component.It is an exciting and challenging role for the right person

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for phone, remote and on-site support/troubleshooting to existing & new customer base.
  • Responsible for installation and configuration of new systems as well as upgrade of any existing systems.
  • Creating, updating, and follow up on technical support cases on our in-house MS Dynamics CRM system.
  • Organise repairs, replacement & return of faulty customer equipment.
  • Responsible for demonstration of Tyrell’s product portfolio to customers.
  • Contribute to Tyrell technical newsletter, whitepapers and knowledgebase.
  • Ongoing industry research of current and emerging, products, workflows and technologies.
  • Ad hoc company projects that require technical input.
  • Assist in the development of opportunities for professional services, consulting, and support services.
  • Attend training, events and webinars to help maintain and update industry, technical and service specific knowledge.
  • Take active interest in Tyrell and wider industry IT services offerings as they develop.
  • Ensure customer deadlines are achieved and work with sales to help manage customer expectations.
  • Under the direction of the department head undertake ‘ad hoc’ assignments and special projects.
Skills
  • A fast learner that enjoys problem solving.
  • A knowledge and experience of Cloud technologies, a distinct advantage
  • Live Studio Production systems and Live streaming practices and technologies
  • Post-production and editing workflows, practices and technologies
  • Cloud based technologies and experience
  • Avid ACSR certification, or operational Avid experience would be advantageous
  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours where required to meet customer deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise accordingly.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships and networks internally at all levels.
  • Ability to take ownership of an issue or problem and manage it in a team setting
