Job description

Cpl are currently looking to hire an experienced Bookkeeper to join our busy and growing accountancy practice in Cork. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is confident managing high volumes of transactional work, and has experience working across multiple clients.

This role will suit someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a practice setting, who is comfortable with day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT returns, reconciliations, and communicating directly with clients. We're a friendly, professional team that values accuracy, efficiency, and proactive communication.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Processing large volumes of purchase and sales invoices for a range of clients
  • Completing bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with Revenue deadlines
  • Maintaining client records and general ledgers accurately and on time
  • Posting journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation) where appropriate
  • Liaising with clients to request information and resolve queries
  • Supporting the wider team during month-end and year-end processes
What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum 2 years’ bookkeeping experience in an accountancy practice
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads
  • Familiarity with Irish VAT rules and standard bookkeeping processes
  • Strong experience with cloud accounting software – we use Xero, Surf Accounts, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently
