Job summary

Analog Devices in Ireland seeks an energetic biosensor development scientist to support the design, characterisation, development and testing of metabolite and biomarker sensors, with a focus on electrochemical sensing.

The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve sensor performance, support product development and contribute to transfer of technology into industrial environments, within a regulated medical device context.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience developing metabolite sensors (e.g., lactate, glucose).
  • Strong knowledge of electrochemical sensors and performance characteristics.
  • Experience in sensor characterisation, laboratory testing, and data analysis.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, regulated development environment.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on design and development of metabolite sensor technologies with electrochemical approaches.
  • Plan, execute, and deliver sensor development activities across development stages.
  • Perform laboratory analysis, characterisation, and evaluation of sensor systems.
  • Improve sensor performance: sensitivity, selectivity, stability, and reproducibility.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Test, Reliability, Manufacturing, and other disciplines.
  • Support development activities involving biological samples, including blood where applicable.
  • Contribute to documentation, design controls, and development processes in regulated environments.
  • Assist technology transfer to industrial/high-volume manufacturing.
  • Maintain detailed development records and communicate progress to the Biosensors Team.
  • Contribute to new ideas and IP across sensing technologies and materials.
