Job summary

Indian AI Research Organization (IAIRO) seeks a Domain Scientist - AI Platform to design, build, and scale biomedical knowledge graphs that power our drug discovery and R&D platforms.

In this role, you will work with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, AI Engineers, and domain scientists to model biological, chemical, and clinical relationships, integrate heterogeneous data sources, and enable graph-driven insights across target identification, drug discovery, and clinical research.

Qualifications

• MSc/PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or closely related quantitative field.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining knowledge graphs in biomedical contexts such as drug discovery or clinical research.
• Proficiency in Python and graph query languages (Cypher, SPARQL, Gremlin).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable knowledge graph schemas and ontologies for biological entities, compounds, targets, pathways, and clinical data.
• Ingest and harmonize heterogeneous datasets into a unified graph model.
• Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, computational biologists, and wet-lab scientists on graph-based data models and queries.
• Partner with AI engineers to expose knowledge graphs to AI workflows for hypothesis generation and evidence retrieval.
• Apply biomedical ontologies and standards (e.g., GO, HPO, UMLS, SNOMED CT) for semantic consistency.
• Optimize graph database performance and queries for large-scale access.
