Job summary

RecruitNet International Ltd is seeking a Basic Grade Medical Scientist – Biochemistry (FTC) for a leading hospital in Dublin. The role involves performing a wide range of diagnostic laboratory tests in Biochemistry, ensuring accuracy and patient care.

You will assist with lab procedures, quality management, and adherence to accreditation standards, with on-call duties and collaboration across hospital departments. CORU registration or eligibility and AM LS membership eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Essential Biochemistry experience.
• Registered with CORU or eligible for CORU registration.
• Hold or be eligible for membership with the Academy of Medical Laboratory Science (AMLS) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, maintaining, and enforcing laboratory procedures to ensure testing processes and equipment meet best-practice standards.
• Support operational procedures and a patient-centred quality management system with performance measurement and audits.
• Perform diagnostic tests in line with JCI and INAB accreditation standards, prioritising workloads and multitasking.
• Participate in on-call duties, manage stock processes, and evaluate new equipment and consumables.
