Job summary

Orange Recruitment seeks an experienced Building Services Specialist for our Dublin-based client. You will develop 3D BIM models for building services, coordinating with engineers and design consultants to ensure accurate, on-schedule delivery.

The role requires five years’ BIM experience, strong Revit/Navisworks/AutoCAD skills, and ability to lead multi-disciplinary coordination and BIM outputs for live projects and tenders.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience using BIM software in construction/building services.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for building services projects.
• Coordinate with project engineers, site teams and design consultants to ensure delivery.
• Integrate MEP services into federated models and resolve clashes.
• Review models and prepare coordination reports for project teams.
• Manage consultant and subcontractor models for standards compliance.
• Lead coordination workshops and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Produce model-based drawings, layouts and construction documentation.
• Generate asset information and handover data per project requirements.
• Support BIM outputs for live projects and tenders.
• Develop mechanical and electrical schematics and detailed service layouts in AutoCAD.
• Assist in as-installed models and record drawings at completion.
• Manage COBie information and digital handover processes.

Orange Recruitment are seeking an experienced Building Services Specialist to join our clients Dublin-based team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a range of large-scale construction and building services projects, supporting project delivery from design through to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in BIM and MEP coordination, with the ability to work closely alongside engineers, project teams and external stakeholders to ensure models and drawings are delivered accurately and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for building services projects using industry-standard software.
• Work closely with project engineers, site teams and design consultants to ensure coordinated project delivery.
• Integrate mechanical and electrical services into federated models and resolve coordination challenges as they arise.
• Review models regularly to identify clashes and prepare coordination reports for project teams.
• Manage and review incoming consultant and subcontractor models to ensure compliance with project standards.
• Facilitate coordination workshops and contribute to multidisciplinary project meetings.
• Produce model-based drawings, layouts, visualisations and construction documentation.
• Generate and maintain asset information and handover data in line with project requirements.
• Support the preparation and delivery of BIM outputs for both live projects and tender submissions.
• Develop mechanical and electrical schematics and detailed service layouts using AutoCAD.
• Assist in the production of as-installed models and record drawings at project completion.
• Manage COBie information and support digital project handover processes.
• Utilise point cloud surveys where required for modelling and verification purposes.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality procedures, health and safety requirements, and project-specific standards.

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum five years' experience working with BIM software within the construction or building services sector.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven experience coordinating mechanical and electrical building services on multidiscipline projects.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Practical experience within a mechanical or electrical trade environment would be advantageous.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a project team.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with experience resolving design and coordination issues.
• Familiarity with point cloud technology and scan-to-BIM workflows would be beneficial.
