6 days work at Alexandra Hospital project
Role Summary
The BIM Modeller (Electrical) will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate 3D BIM models of electrical systems — including power distribution, lighting, ELV, and cable containment — from design intent through to construction‑ready coordination. The role requires strong Revit/BIM software proficiency, a solid understanding of electrical building services, and close collaboration with engineers, other trade modellers, and site teams to resolve clashes and support installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D BIM models for electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, ELV/low current, cable trays/containment, standby power) based on design drawings and engineering input.
- Convert 2D electrical drawings and single-line diagrams into coordinated 3D models in line with project BIM standards and LOD requirements.
- Conduct clash detection and coordination with ACMV, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and architectural models; resolve clashes in collaboration with other discipline modellers and engineers.
- Produce and update shop drawings, cable schedules, and installation drawings derived from the BIM model.
- Maintain model accuracy and version control in line with project BIM execution plans (BEP).
- Support the electrical engineering team with quantity take-offs, material schedules, and drawing extraction from the model.
- Attend BIM coordination meetings, documenting and tracking clash resolution and design changes.
- Update models to reflect site variations, RFIs, and as‑built conditions.
- Ensure models comply with client, consultant, and regulatory BIM submission requirements.
- Support the preparation of BIM deliverables for statutory submissions where applicable.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of BIM modelling experience, with a focus on electrical/ELV systems in building services or construction projects.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP (essential); familiarity with Navisworks for clash detection and coordination.
- Working knowledge of electrical building services systems and how they are represented in 3D models.
- Familiarity with BIM standards, LOD requirements, and BIM execution plans (BEP).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, and specifications.
- Good attention to detail, spatial coordination skills, and ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams.
Preferred Attributes
Experience with Singapore BCA BIM submission requirements and CORENET X is an advantage.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and other supporting design software.
Experience working on commercial, industrial, or institutional building projects.
Ability to manage multiple project models concurrently and meet coordination deadlines.
