BIM Director (Canada)

Exciting opportunity for a BIM/VDC Director to relocate to Canada and join the Building Division of one of Canada’s Largest Main Contractors (Circa $4 Billion turnover annually). The Director of BIM/VDC leads the division’s BIM strategy, driving growth and managing BIM activities and staff across regional offices. They ensure alignment with organisational goals and oversee BIM development.

Duties

• Lead and manage the BIM/VDC strategy, services, and staff across the division.
• Provide advanced BIM/VDC support and coordinate training programs for regional teams.
• Collaborate with IT to manage BIM‑related software, hardware, and tools, ensuring industry trends and innovations are applied.
• Assist with budgeting for BIM/VDC resources and provide strategic guidance to Business Unit leaders.
• Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting company core values.
• Resolve escalated issues and work with Risk, Legal, and Business Development teams when necessary.
• Demonstrate strong leadership by mentoring staff, promoting accountability, and recruiting top talent.
• Communicate effectively through presentations, reports, and written correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Engineering or Architectural Degree, or related Technical Diploma.
• 15+ years of construction experience, including 10+ years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of modern construction practices, project schedules, and construction documents.
• Proven ability to manage risk, work independently, and anticipate client requirements.
• Skilled in business development, relationship‑building, and budget management for construction projects.
• Proficient in BIM software tools such as Revit, Navisworks, and other relevant platforms.

Benefits

• Salary $210,000 to $242,000 CAD (Circa €143k to €165k)
