Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a BIM Coordinator for a well-established architectural practice delivering complex projects across Ireland and internationally. You will support the implementation and maintenance of the BIM strategy, standards and libraries, and act as the project BIM contact across multidisciplinary teams including designers, engineers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline (NFQ Level 6 or higher).
• 3+ years' experience in BIM coordination or similar role within AEC.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD and other BIM-related software.
• Experience using Navisworks to federate models, coordinate designs, clash detection and reports.

About Your New Job

• Support the implementation and maintenance of the practice's BIM strategy, protocols and user manuals.

• Monitor staff adherence to BIM standards, file naming conventions and project protocols.

• Provide support with BIM software, licensing and updates, ensuring systems meet the needs of the practice and its clients.

• Act as the project-based BIM point of contact, supporting the delivery of BIM and digital objectives across projects.

• Coordinate with project teams, designers, subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

• Develop and manage 4D BIM models in collaboration with the project control team, aligning simulations with project schedules and programmes.

• Chair BIM coordination meetings, identify and record 3D model clashes, and prepare reports, action points and follow-ups.

• Work closely with project leads, providing weekly progress updates and look-ahead reports.

• Support the management and development of BIM content libraries, templates and documentation.

• Evaluate project models against BEP, MIDP and MPDT requirements.

• Assist with staff training, promote digital ways of working and support continuous improvement of BIM processes.

• Contribute directly to project deliverables through drafting and modelling when required.

What You Need

• Third-level qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline (minimum NFQ Level 6).

• 3+ years' experience in BIM coordination or a similar role within the AEC industry.

• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD and other BIM-related software.

• Experience using Navisworks to federate models, coordinate designs, carry out clash detection and generate reports.

• Familiarity with industry standards and processes, including ISO 19650, COBie and Dynamo.

• Strong understanding of building systems, construction methods and design processes.

• Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, consultants and contractors.

• Excellent communication, organisational and collaboration skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and competing priorities.

• An interest in promoting BIM standards and digital innovation within a multidisciplinary practice.
