BIM/ CAD Design Engineer

Job summary

Coffey is seeking a BIM Coordinator to work with our CAD & BIM Lead and a team of modelers to deliver projects. You will develop 3D Revit models, 2D AutoCAD drawings, P&ID’s and preparation of 2D General Arrangement Drawings.

You will coordinate drawing reviews through BIM360 Docs, prepare registers and manage drawing revisions, while supporting ISO/BIM procedures. A 0–3 year background and a clean Irish/EU driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Building Information Modelling.
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D and Revit.
• 0-3 years post-graduate experience.
• Knowledge of Dynamo Scripts is preferable.
• Strong IT skills and MS Office.
• Experience in water/wastewater industry an advantage.
• Knowledge of BIM BS1192/ISO19650 an advantage.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Full clean Irish/EU Driver’s License.
• Excellent written & spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Coffey projects in collaboration with the CAD & BIM Lead and BIM Co-ordinator.
• Develop 3D Revit models, 2D AutoCAD drawings, P&ID’s and GA drawings.
• Coordinate drawing review and issue through BIM360 Docs.
• Prepare drawing registers, transmittals, and control of drawing revisions.
• Assist in project documentation per ISO procedures and BIM protocols.
• Assist development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans.
• The design work may include tender, preliminary and as-constructed drawings.
• Keep informed of industry trends and undertake CPD.
• Other duties as required by Senior Management.

About The Role

• Working closely with the CAD & BIM Lead, the BIM Co-ordinator and other CAD/Revit Modelers to deliver Coffey projects.
• Developing 3D Revit models, 2D AutoCAD drawings, P&ID’s and preparation of 2D General Arrangement Drawings.
• Coordinating drawing review and issue through Common Data Environment (BIM360 Docs)
• Prepare drawing registers, transmittals, and control of drawing revisions
• Assist in the control of project documentation as per ISO accredited company procedures and BIM protocols BS1192/ISO19650
• Assist development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans
• The design work may include tender stage and preliminary designs, detailed designs, and as-constructed drawings.
• Keep informed of emerging industry trends in technology.
• Undertake Continued Professional Development (CPD).
• Other duties as required and specified by the Senior Management

About You

• Certificate or Diploma in Building Information Modelling
• Certificate and experience in the use of Autodesk software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D and Revit
• 0-3 years of post-graduate experience
• Knowledge of Dynamo Scripts is preferable (not a requirement)
• Strong general IT skills and competent in the use of MS Office
• Diligent with an attention to detail
• Experience in the water/wastewater industry an advantage
• Knowledge of BIM and BS1192/ISO19650 an advantage
• Ability to work efficiently, whether on their own or in a team environment
• Must have a Full clean Irish/EU Driver’s License
• Excellent written & spoken English.
