Job description
Overview

Muiríosa Foundation are seeking applicants for the post of Behavior Therapist. The successful candidate will become a key member of an evolving psychological services team led by the Principal Psychology Manager. The post will involve close collaborative working with the Senior Psychologist. The post holder will provide psychological supports to a broad range of individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autism and mental health concerns. The office base is negotiable - Portarlington or Tullamore.

Responsibilities / Qualifications
  • An Honours Primary Degree In Psychology Or Equivalent (essential).
  • Post-graduate professional qualification in behavioural psychology or equivalent (e.g. BCBA), or working towards same (essential).
  • Eligible for membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (essential).
  • Relevant experience and demonstrable skills in working with adults with intellectual disabilities and Autistic adults with high support needs (essential).
  • Experience in designing and developing individualised support arrangements for adults with exceptional needs (essential).
  • A knowledge of evidence-based interventions for families and staff teams supporting people who present with complex support needs (essential).
  • Demonstrated competencies in delivering staff training.
  • An understanding of the principles of social role valorisation.
  • A commitment to person-centred values.
  • Willingness and availability to work flexible hours in response to service demands (essential).
  • Full driving license, access to car and ability to travel across a broad geographical area (essential).
