Job description

Medforce is delighted to partner with a well-established Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) in Longford to recruit a passionate and skilled Behaviour Therapist. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative, family-centred service supporting children and young people (aged 0–18) with complex disabilities and developmental needs.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Therapist, you will play a key role in developing and delivering evidence-based interventions to support children with behavioural, social, and emotional challenges. You will work closely with children, families, and the wider interdisciplinary team to promote meaningful participation and improve quality of life.

Key Responsibilities of the Behaviour Therapist:

  • Conduct functional behaviour assessments and design individualised intervention plans
  • Deliver one-to-one and group-based behavioural therapy
  • Work collaboratively with team members including psychologists, occupational therapists, SLTs, social workers, and physiotherapists
  • Provide training and support to families, caregivers, and educational staff
  • Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust interventions as needed
  • Participate in case reviews, service planning, and quality improvement initiatives

Essential Requirements of the Behaviour Therapist:

  • A recognised qualification in Psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), or a related discipline
  • Experience working with children with autism and/or intellectual disabilities
  • Strong knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and other evidence-based behavioural approaches
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
  • A compassionate, family-centred approach to care

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification in ABA or Behaviour Therapy
  • Previous experience working in a CDNT or early intervention setting
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary practice in disability services
