Role Overview

The BCAR Assistant / Assigned Certifier plays a key role in ensuring compliance with the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2014. Working closely with design teams, contractors, and local authorities, the role involves managing statutory certification processes, conducting inspections, and maintaining documentation throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and submission of Commencement Notices, Inspection Plans, and Completion Certificates
• Support the development and implementation of project-specific inspection plans.
• Conduct periodic site inspections to monitor compliance with Building Regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, communications, and certification documentation.
• Attend site and design team meetings, providing updates on BCAR compliance.
• Liaise with Ancillary Certifiers to ensure quality monitoring and documentation standards are met.
• Support the Assigned Certifier in managing client relationships and project timelines.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 year`s experience in building design, construction, or certification.
• Good working knowledge of Assigned Certifier Role
• Familiarity with BCAR regulations and the BCMS platform.
• Strong understanding of Irish Building Regulations and construction processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and site monitoring software.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and team collaboration skills.
