Job summary

GCS Recruitment seeks an experienced AWS Architect for a 6-month contract to drive a large-scale cloud transformation in Ireland. The role is hands-on, translating business requirements into practical cloud solutions and guiding teams through implementation.

You will design secure, scalable AWS architectures, lead migration efforts, and champion IaC and DevOps practices, including Terraform, while ensuring security, performance and cost considerations are baked in.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience as an AWS Architect / Cloud Architect / Senior Cloud Engineer.
• Extensive experience across core AWS services.
• Strong understanding of AWS networking, security and identity.
• Proven experience delivering AWS migrations and cloud transformation programmes.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, ideally Terraform.
• Understanding of CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience designing highly available, resilient and scalable cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud security and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

AWS Architect - 6-Month Contract

We are looking for an experienced AWS Architect to join a large-scale cloud transformation programme on an initial 6-month contract.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering secure, scalable and resilient AWS solutions, working closely with engineering, infrastructure, security and application teams. The role is hands-on and suited to an architect who can translate business requirements into practical cloud solutions and support teams through implementation.

This is a 6-month contract offering the opportunity to work on a significant AWS transformation programme within an enterprise environment.
