Job summary

Veolia Group in Ireland is seeking an Automation Technician to join the Maintenance and Calibration team at Grangecastle, Clondalkin. You will maintain and troubleshoot automated systems (BMS, QBMS, MCS, VPE), liaising with contract teams, client engineering and vendors to maximise uptime.

You will deliver delegated engineering tasks, update spare lists, and ensure compliance with EHS rules and SOPs. A national craft certificate or equivalent in electro-mechanical/electrical/instrumentation is

Qualifications

  • Formal electro-mechanical/electrical/instrumentation qualification required.
  • Experience with SCADA/PLC and analog/digital IO systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and control diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Must follow EHS and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of clients' automated systems.
  • Coordination and supervision of vendors on site.
  • Technical documentation in compliance with site rules.
  • Delivery of delegated engineering tasks per SOPs and WIs.
  • Update stores spare lists as required.

He/she will liaise with the contract team, client engineering and equipment vendors for all issues relating to the automated systems in assigned building, i.e. BMS, QBMS, MCS, and VPE. He/she will resolve all automation issues relating to utilities plant and equipment, to ensure maximum uptime of same. Project work and reliability work is also part of this role as required by the current Client.Day to Day of the role;Maintenance and troubleshooting of all clients automated systemsCo-ordination and supervision of vendors and sub-contractors on site.Completion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelinesDelivery of delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory and corporate requirements.Update stores spare lists as appropriate when requiredKeep training current in line with client’s requirements, i.e. SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), EWI’s (Engineering Work Instructions), etc.When necessary, review all Maintenance Task Lists, SOP’s, EWI’s, and other relevant documentation to instigate the necessary changes post reviewAll work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.Liaise with client Automation groupAny other activities as directed by the Veolia Contract ManagerRequirements for the role;National Craft Certificate / cert / diploma / degreee (or equivalent) in appropriate electro-mechanical /electrical/ instrumentation discipline.Experience of SCADA / PLCAnalogue / Digital IO systems.Loop checking.Electrical, schematic and circuit diagram reading.Process automation experience.Troubleshooting/repair of Low Voltage Electrical Systems,Good organisational skillsExperience in pharmaceutical environmentGood documentation skillsTeam PlayerAttention to detailMethodical & Analytical approach to work.Good problem solving and trouble shooting ability.Good Initiative and Pro-active attitude in approach to dutiesPlease note:If you are an EU/EEA national, you will be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.If you are a non-EU/EEA national , you will require current and valid permission to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland.Information on legislation and guides to the procedures in relation to obtaining greencard permits ,work permits, spousal/dependant permits is available on the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation website.
