Job summary

Veolia Automation Technician in Grangecastle, Clondalkin, Ireland, joins the Maintenance and Calibration team to resolve automation issues across BMS/QBMS/MCS/VPE and ensure maximum uptime of utilities plant.

You will maintenance and troubleshoot automated systems, coordinate vendors on site, complete regulatory documentation, and deliver delegated engineering tasks while keeping training updated per client requirements.

Qualifications

  • National Craft Certificate / diploma / degree in electro-mechanical / electrical / instrumentation.
  • Experience of SCADA / PLC.
  • Electrical schematic reading.
  • Troubleshooting/repair of Low Voltage Electrical Systems.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical environment.
  • Team Player.
  • Methodical & Analytical approach to work.
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of all clients' automated systems.
  • Coordination and supervision of vendors and sub-contractors on site.
  • Completion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules.
  • Delivery of delegated engineering tasks in line with good engineering practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Update stores spare lists as appropriate when required.
  • Keep training current in line with client's requirements (SOPs, EWIs).
  • Review Maintenance Task Lists and related docs to instigate changes post review.
  • All work on site to comply with EHS and Veolia EHS rules.
  • Liaise with client Automation group
  • Any other activities as directed by the Veolia Contract Manager

Job description

Automation Technician

Duration: Permanent

Location: Grangecastle, Clondalkin

Hours: 39 Hours per week (08:00 to 16:30)

Overview of the role

The automation technician will work with the Veolia Maintenance and Calibration team. He/she will liaise with the contract team, client engineering and equipment vendors for all issues relating to the automated systems in assigned building, i.e. BMS, QBMS, MCS, and VPE. He/she will resolve all automation issues relating to utilities plant and equipment, to ensure maximum uptime of same. Project work and reliability work is also part of this role as required by the current Client.

Day to Day of the role;
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of all clients automated systems
  • Co-ordination and supervision of vendors and sub-contractors on site.
  • Completion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelines
  • Delivery of delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory and corporate requirements.
  • Update stores spare lists as appropriate when required
  • Keep training current in line with client's requirements, i.e. SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), EWI's (Engineering Work Instructions), etc.
  • When necessary, review all Maintenance Task Lists, SOP's, EWI's, and other relevant documentation to instigate the necessary changes post review
  • All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.
  • Liaise with client Automation group
  • Any other activities as directed by the Veolia Contract Manager
Requirements for the role;
  • National Craft Certificate / cert / diploma / degreee (or equivalent) in appropriate electro-mechanical /electrical/ instrumentation discipline.
  • Experience of SCADA / PLC
  • Electrical, schematic and circuit diagram reading.
  • Troubleshooting/repair of Low Voltage Electrical Systems,
  • Good organisational skills
  • Experience in pharmaceutical environment
  • Team Player
  • Methodical & Analytical approach to work.
  • Good problem solving and trouble shooting ability.
  • Good Initiative and Pro-active attitude in approach to duties
