Job summary

eir business talent are currently seeking applicants for a Senior Automation (RPA) Engineer / Automation Consultant. This is a day rate contract position in Louth, Ireland, with hybrid work and occasional travel. Candidates must be located and have a right to work in EU/UK.

You will own and stabilise a large automation estate, implement governance, and help scale automation across finance, operations and supply chain using RPA, SQL, ERP integrations and custom apps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ hands-on RPA development with at least 3 years on UiPath delivering automations to production.
• Strong UiPath Studio and Orchestrator experience, including the REFramework, queues, exception handling, scheduling and environment management.
• Experience automating against SAP GUI scripting and APIs.
• Solid SQL skills and experience with system integrations.
• Experience working with finance, operations and supply chain teams to automate their processes.
• Ability to work directly with business stakeholders, mapping processes and asking the right questions about requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver automations end to end: requirements, process mapping, design, build, testing, deployment and hypercare.
• Work from a prioritised pipeline of requests, providing clear estimates and regular progress updates.
• Build automations across a range of business processes, including document-based processes where appropriate.
• Support and enhance automations in production, investigating issues and resolving root cause.
• Implement logging, monitoring and alerting so issues are picked up and communicated quickly.
• Where practical, favour API or data-level integration over screen-based interaction to improve resilience.
• Help keep automations running smoothly through system upgrades and changes to the applications they use.
• Apply the team’s standards for design, coding, testing, release and change control consistently, and suggest improvements where you see gaps.
• Keep documentation, runbooks and test evidence up to date as part of every delivery, not as an afterthought.
• Maintain Orchestrator configuration, environments, credentials and scheduling in a controlled and documented way.

This is a hybrid role, occasional travel to Louth, Ireland may be required. Candidates must be located and have a right to work in EU/UK.

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Automation (RPA) Engineer/Consultant to take ownership of an existing automation and integration environment that has evolved over a number of years. The successful candidate will be responsible for stabilising and improving a large automation estate, introducing governance and best practices, and helping the business scale its automation capability as it continues to grow. This is not a pure RPA Developer role. The environment includes RPA, SQL databases, ERP integrations, reporting platforms and custom business applications. The position requires a combination of technical expertise, business process understanding and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver automation

• Deliver automations end to end: requirements, process mapping, design, build, testing, deployment and hypercare.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• 5+ years’ hands-on RPA development, with at least 3 years on UiPath, delivering automations into production independently.
• Strong UiPath Studio and Orchestrator experience, including the REFramework, queues, exception handling, scheduling and environment management.
• Experience working alongside finance, operations and supply chain teams to automate their processes.
• Experience automating against SAP (GUI scripting, transactions and/or interfaces).
• Solid SQL skills and experience working with APIs and system integrations.
• Experience supporting and enhancing automations built by others.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders, mapping processes and asking the right questions about requirements.
• Disciplined about testing, documentation and following an agreed release process.

Desirable

• UiPath Advanced Developer (or equivalent) certification.
• UiPath Document Understanding or other intelligent document processing experience.
• Python or .NET for custom activities and scripting.
• Azure integration tools (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps) or Microsoft Fabric.
• FMCG, manufacturing or supply chain sector experience.

You work well with minimal supervision, keep your manager informed without being chased, and are comfortable explaining technical issues to non-technical colleagues in plain English.
