Job summary

Vantive is offering a 6–9 month Automation Engineering Co-Op placement at our Castlebar, Co. Mayo site.

You will work within the Process Engineering and Packaging Operations department on highly automated manufacturing and packaging systems. Based at Vantive Manufacturing, Castlebar, you will gain practical experience applying automation concepts, data visibility and continuous improvement practices to real-world challenges in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Student studying Automation Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assess packaging-line automation and identify improvement opportunities.
• Analyse Overall Equipment Effectiveness, equipment downtime and performance losses.
• Develop targeted actions to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
• Map manufacturing processes and identify non-value-added activities.
• Support waste-reduction and productivity initiatives.
• Review human-machine interfaces and operator workflows.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual interventions and improve operation.
• Support the implementation of approved automation improvements.
• Document and standardise automated processes.
• Help deliver measurable improvements in cycle time, quality, efficiency and equipment reliability.

About The Opportunity

Vantive is offering an exciting Co-Op placement for a student studying Automation Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.

Based at our Castlebar manufacturing site, you will gain practical experience in a highly automated manufacturing and packaging environment. You will support meaningful technical projects aimed at improving equipment performance, reducing manual interventions, increasing data visibility and strengthening operational efficiency.

This placement will provide the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real manufacturing challenges while developing valuable experience in automation, operational excellence, digitalisation, equipment reliability and continuous improvement.

What You Will Work On
