Job summary

CG Controls Ltd. is seeking an Automation Engineer to support a busy site in Ireland, working with a mix of modern and legacy automation systems.

You will assist in planning, design, scheduling and control of projects while driving continuous improvement and adhere to high standards of detail. We value initiative-taking individuals who communicate clearly and collaborate with engineers to deliver automation deliverables on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• PLC programming experience required.
• Commissioning and validation experience required.
• Experience in a process engineering role.
• Experience with manufacturing systems.
• Experience with vision equipment such as Cognex is desirable.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications.
• Working knowledge of FDA/ISO quality systems in regulated environments.
• Coordinate assessments to determine regulatory compliance and needed improvements.
• Builds equipment and control systems and supports reliability updates.
• Compile automation project requirements for resource management and maintenance.
• Contribute to automation deliverables and meet deadlines.
• Analyze scope changes and provide information for time and cost claims.
• Communicate workflow and project deliverables effectively with engineers.

Exciting opportunity for an Automation Engineer to support a busy site. You will be working with a combination of modern and legacy systems, infrastructure, and services. As part of the site’s effort to deliver new product development you will be involved in planning, design, scheduling and control of Automation projects. If you have an eye for detail and hold yourself to a high standard this role is for you. The customer values an initiative-taking approach and a focus on continuous improvement. Your skills as a planner and organizer will be valuable.

Skills & Abilities:

• PLC Programming experience
• Commissioning and validation experience
• Experience in a process engineering role
• Experience with manufacturing systems
• Experience with vision equipment desirable e.g., Cognex
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications.
• Working knowledge of quality systems (FDA/ISO) within a regulated environment.
• Coordinates assessments in support of determining regulatory compliance and any necessary improvements for regulation conformity.
• Builds equipment and control systems and helps determine reliability and need for updates.
• Compiles automation project requirements in support of project resource management and maintenance.
• Contributes to automation deliverables and ensures adherence to expected deadlines.
• Analyse changes in scope, including provision of necessary information to support claims for time and cost impact.
• Excellent communication skills to communicate workflow and project deliverables internally with engineers.
