Job summary

TechMet Ltd. seeks an Electrical & Control Systems Technician with hands-on experience in industrial electrical systems, PLC-controlled equipment and instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Instrumentation or Mechatronics, or time-served electrician.
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with Siemens PLC systems, Profibus/Profinet, and Industrial Ethernet.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, P&IDs and control schematics.
• Experience with VFDs, motor control systems and MCCs.

Responsibilities

• Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks, including Profibus, Profinet and Industrial Ethernet.
• Install, calibrate and maintain instrumentation including flow meters, pressure sensors, temperature sensors and VSDs.
• Support preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Participate in plant shutdowns, maintenance projects and capital upgrade projects.
• Manage automation contractors and support project planning, budgeting and scheduling.
• Ensure all electrical and automation activities comply with plant safety standards, including LOTO and machine safety requirements.
