AIR Sligo, a global automation specialist, seeks an Automation Equipment Engineer to take ownership of late-assembly and commissioning activities. You will be the central technical interface across internal teams and with customers, driving issue resolution and ensuring on-time delivery of project phases.

The role requires a degree in engineering, 3–5 years in automation or machine building, and strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years in automation or machine building.
• Strong cross‑functional communication.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Experience with 3D CAD is an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Take technical ownership of machines during late assembly and post power-up phases, ensuring all systems are fully functional before delivery.
• Act as the primary interface between assembly, electrical, software, and engineering/design teams to centralise technical communication and drive issue resolution.
• Serve as the main technical link to the customer post power-up, maintaining issue lists and supporting project manager with customer communications.
• Convert unresolved issues into clearly defined, actionable tasks with ownership and a clear path to resolution.
• Identify, register, and manage all outstanding items, snag lists, and technical issues through to closure.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities during commissioning to meet project milestones.
• Engage early in the project lifecycle to understand machine design and technical requirements.
• Support FAT and SAT activities, including travel to customer sites as required.
• Ensure all technical changes are documented and communicated to relevant teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Design to resolve challenges efficiently.
• Report to the Automation Equipment Engineer Lead on project status and technical matters.
