Job summary

Onion Search Pte Ltd in Ireland seeks a detail-oriented and technically inclined Test Coordination professional to join our team. This role serves as a key link between customers, Workshop and Testing Departments, ensuring customer requirements are accurately translated into internal work instructions and testing activities are properly coordinated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• No experienced candidate is required, but relevant experience in materials testing or laboratory environments is advantageous.
• Certifications such as CWI, CSWIP 3.1 or PCN Level 2 are appreciated.

Job description

Our client is test laboratory specializing in fast, reliable and accurate testing of metal. They offer a comprehensive selection of tests and inspection services including mechanical tests, chemical and metallographic analysis, corrosion tests, non-destructive tests, welding consultancy & welding inspection, failure analysis, etc.

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and technically inclined individual to join their Test Coordination team. This role serves as a key link between customers, Workshop and Testing Departments, ensuring customer requirements are accurately translated into internal work instructions and testing activities are properly coordinated.

JOB DIMENSION (SCOPE)

• Interpret customer testing requirements and translate them into clear internal work instructions, ensuring alignment with quotations, specifications, drawings and applicable standards.
• Review testing requirements and provide technical input for the preparation and confirmation of quotations, sales orders and work orders.
• Liaise with customers to clarify testing requirements, sample preparation, applicable test methods, specifications and expected turnaround times.
• Coordinate with the Workshop and Testing Departments on sample preparation, job scheduling, testing priorities and readiness of specimens.
• Monitor job progress and follow up with relevant departments to support timely completion of testing activities.
• Respond to customer and internal queries relating to job requirements and testing arrangements.
• Develop technical knowledge of materials, testing standards and laboratory processes to provide appropriate technical guidance to customers and internal teams.
• Support continuous improvement of work processes, SOPs and coordination practices.
• For experienced candidates, provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to junior team members where appropriate.
• Perform other related technical and coordination duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• No experienced candidate is welcomed to apply; relevant experience in materials testing, laboratory, inspection or related industries will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of metallic materials, material specifications or welding processes is an advantage.
• Exposure to an ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory environment is an advantage.
• Good communication, coordination and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented, organised and willing to learn.
• CWI, CSWIP 3.1, PCN Level 2 or other relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
