Job summary

Stryker Group in Ireland is seeking an Associate Sourcing Manager to lead strategic sourcing across assigned suppliers and commodities, driving best quality, service and value through bidding, negotiation, and supplier management.

You will coordinate sourcing for new product development, report costs, manage schedules, and collaborate with Design and Advanced Operations to align on Global Sourcing Strategy, while driving cost reductions and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required in engineering, business, operations management or supply chain management.
  • Masters degree or CPM preferred.
  • 6+ years of work experience.
  • 3+ years in strategic sourcing and supplier development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities to obtain best quality and value through bidding, negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Coordinate sourcing needs for new product development projects, including supplier selection and alignment to Global Sourcing Strategy.
  • Regularly report material costs, manage schedules, and define final material logistics; act as liaison for sourcing with Design and Advanced Operations teams.
  • Ensure project teams adhere to strategic direction of Global Sourcing and purchasing controls related to design projects.
  • Leverage improvements to project timelines with key suppliers and project teams.
  • Influence project members to achieve faster deliverables and cost reductions.
  • Negotiate supplier cost and NRE reductions with commodities teams; drive efficiencies with suppliers and communication tools to enable faster product launches.
  • Identify process improvements to improve speed, quality, and long-term delivery; support cross-unit projects.
  • Build relationships across Global Sourcing Group and with R&D, Operations.
  • Lead sourcing analysis, cost analyses, and make versus buy analyses as required.
  • Identify supply base risks and develop mitigation plans for new products.

What you will do-

The Associate Sourcing Manager will lead the development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities in assigned suppliers and/or commodities with the goal of obtaining the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management.

The Associate Sourcing Manager willbe responsible forcoordinating sourcing needs for new product development projects, including completion of supplier selection with agreement to Global Sourcing Strategy, regularly reporting material costs, managing schedules, and defining final materiallogistics. Acts asliaisonfor all sourcing activities to Design and Advanced Operations teams.

Additional responsibilities:
  • Ensure project teams adhere to strategic direction of Global Sourcing andpurchasingcontrols requirements related to design projects
  • Leverage improvements to project timelines from experience w/ key suppliers and project teams
  • Preliminary influence on key project team members to inspire quicker overall deliverables for projects
  • Negotiate supplier cost reductions and NRE reductions in conjunction w/ commodities teams when cost increases experienced
  • Drives key efficiencies w/ suppliers and communication tools support faster & more product launches
  • Identifyprocess improvements to either supplier or Stryker processes to drive better speed to market, quality, and long-term delivery
  • May support more projects or projects that expand across multiple business units
  • Builds engaging relationship with variety of R&D engineering teams
  • Builds relationships within Operations by becoming a value-added and sought-after resource
  • Builds relationships across Global Sourcing Group
  • Lead sourcing analysis and selection process and perform cost analyses and make versus buy analyses asrequired
  • Identifysupply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans for new products.
What you need-
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or similar isrequired
  • Master’s Degree or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is preferred
  • 6+ years of work experiencerequired
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and supplier development – Highly preferred
  • Ability to negotiate effectively to obtain best prices and terms on products, materials, and servicesrequired
  • Knowledge and application of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractualterms, andcontract administrationrequired
  • Working knowledge of ISO13485 standards and requirements preferred
  • Project Management experience and solid understanding of project management tools preferred
  • Manufacturing management, manufacturing engineering, buying, production planning or new product development experience is preferred
Ireland Pay Ranges:
  • Ireland: €59,000 - €100,000 EUR Annual
