Job description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our clients team at a 51-bed Nursing Home with additional assisted living facilities, located in the scenic village of Carna, Co. Galway.

Position Details:

  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Hours: Up to 40 hours per week (Part-time options potentially available, flexible days)
  • Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

About the Role:

As ADON, you will support the Director of Nursing in managing the day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of the home. You will ensure the highest standards of care for residents, lead and motivate nursing staff, and promote a positive, person-centred care environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) – active registration required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-registration experience in nursing management or in a nursing home/aged care setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HIQA Standards, the National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland, and relevant legislation
  • Leadership training and/or QQI Level 6 in Management (desirable)
  • Postgraduate qualification in nursing leadership (desirable)
