Job Description

Associate Director Landscape Planner – UK&I Landscape Architecture. This senior role leads on regional and global major projects that include regeneration, energy transition, and infrastructure schemes. You will influence design from the early stages to create a landscape legacy, support progress toward net‑zero, and deliver environmental and social benefits.

Job Responsibilities

• Undertake site survey and analysis in the field, using innovative processes to deliver successful outcomes.
• Produce and/or oversee reports, drawings, and technical documentation, ensuring the appropriate level of detail for each development stage.
• Be client‑facing and respond to client requirements; nurture and develop client relationships.
• Communicate clearly, leading conference calls, meetings, and workshops.
• Provide technical guidance and inspire the team, fostering continuous growth, innovation, and excellence.
• Collaborate with other technical disciplines within multidisciplinary teams to enhance project delivery.
• Undertake project‑management responsibilities, including contractual, financial, and programme management.
• Apply AECOM procedures, understand their importance, and ensure correct application to projects.

Minimum Requirements

• Prepare LVIAs and TVIAs and evidence‑based documents in line with best practice; experience with NISP examinations and public inquiries is preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the UK planning system in landscape architecture.
• Project‑management experience, including financial control, reporting, programme management, and budget ownership.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Competency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud; experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civils 3D, Revit, LSS or ProjectWise is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Diploma or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, accredited by the Landscape Institute.
• Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute.
• Full UK driving licence.
