Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking an Associate Auditor to perform and document routine audit examinations across the organization. You will report to an Audit Team Lead and ensure activities align with budgets, timelines, and standards.

You will contribute insights to improve operational efficiency and strengthen internal controls, developing test steps, evaluating results, and presenting concise findings to stakeholders with a professional approach.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of auditing within the financial services industry.
• Professional certifications (CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA) and/or MBA preferred.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Clear and effective report writing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents routine audit examinations across the organization.
• Develops test steps, documents results, and assesses control environment quality.
• Keeps up to date with regulatory rules and industry changes.
• Manages special projects and presents audit results to business units.
• Communicates recommendations to improve operations and controls.
• Applies understanding of corporate units to ensure audit controls exist.
• Evaluates management, processes, controls, and operating practices during audits.
• Develops concise, high-quality summaries of findings and recommendations.
