A community-focused organization in Mullingar is seeking Youth Work Assistants to support youth development initiatives and programs. No prior experience is necessary as full accredited training will be provided. The role involves supervising young people, assisting in the planning and delivery of various activities, and engaging in training opportunities to equip participants with vital skills. Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

All of our youth work staff are based in designated disadvantaged areas across the Midlands region, including Athlone, Mullingar, and Tullamore.Key Responsibilities Include:Supervising and supporting young people aged 10 to 21 yearsAssisting in the planning and delivery of youth programmes and group activities in areas such as:SportHealth PromotionEducationMusicHobbies and InterestsRegional and National Youth EventsSupporting programme facilitation, coaching, and administrative tasksParticipating fully in training and development activities as part of the programmeThere will be opportunities to engage in specific areas of youth work such as Youth Justice, Mental Health, and Community Development. Training will be provided both on-the-job and through structured courses, with QQI certification levels from Level 4 to Level 6 available.Additionally, participants will gain experience in key areas such as work readiness, social issues, and life skills.We welcome applications from individuals with a genuine interest in working with young people. Experience—either voluntary or paid—in areas such as sport, education, hospitality, music, arts, or youth organisations (e.g. Scouts or youth clubs) is an advantage but not required.
