We are hiring an Assistant Person in Charge of our Nursing Home in Co Tipperary.

Responsibilities

  • Following pertinent health laws and standards and serving as the PIC if the Person in Charge is not present.
  • Helping the PIC oversee the Nursing Home's administration, structure, and activities
  • Providing clinical supervision and guidance to employees to improve morale and standards
  • establishing and preserving a home where occupants experience support and value
  • preventing abuse and neglect of the elderly and properly reporting concerns
  • ensuring sufficient staffing numbers to enable efficient operations and the provision of high-quality care
  • assisting nursing professionals in the planning and execution of care
  • Willingness to work weekends, nights, and days as needed
Requirements
  • An Bord Altranais is a registered nurse (current PIN needed).
  • Nursing degree at the third level.
  • 6 years or more of post-registration nursing experience is required.
  • A minimum of two years' experience working in a nursing facility.
  • Two years or more of management experience.
  • It is necessary to have post-registration healthcare management training, or be prepared to get it.
  • It is preferable to have post-registration training in dementia care or gerontology.
  • Valid and up-to-date certifications in CPR, Medication Management, Infection Control, Manual and Resident Moving & Handling, Dementia, and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (training can be supplied if necessary).
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
