Contract: 24 hours per week

Job Brief

The Assistant Manager will deliver on the vision for the people they are supporting through their daily lives. This includes working with a number of people and their families, supporting people in their homes and in their local community, and having responsibility for staff rosters and day-to-day operational management. They will build and develop capacity within staff teams linked to the individuals and other supports to ensure delivery and implementation of supports, developing a circle of support around the individuals.

We are looking for highly capable people with the ability to listen, respond, and have an empathetic nature. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, good leadership skills, and the ability to work on their own initiative. Creativity, imagination, and high motivation are key. You will be required to participate in the Management of the Service as per HIQA requirements.

Qualification Details

Social Care Worker - a relevant 3rd level qualification in Social Care, or equivalent (minimum level 7). Qualification must be eligible for CORU registration.

Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in facilitating and supporting people who have high and/or complex needs
  • A genuine understanding and interest in working alongside people to effect positive opportunities and change in their lives
  • The ability to listen, observe, and respectfully advocate for the individual’s needs, preferences, rights, and dreams
  • Excellent communication skills and clear understanding of teamwork with the motivation to deliver high-quality facilitation, working with individuals, their families, and other disciplines
  • A strong belief in people’s rights, inclusion, and equality
  • Flexibility to respond to service demands
  • Working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations is essential
  • Good IT skills are preferable
Other Requirements
  • Full driver’s license is essential
  • All applicants will be subject to Irish Garda Vetting & Reference checks
  • Applicants from countries outside the EU must provide work authorization to take up employment in the Republic of Ireland. This must be submitted with the application
  • All applicants will be required to access Overseas Police Clearance if they have lived outside the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland for more than 6 months since age 18
Salary Scale

Social Care Worker Pay Scale (Scale Range €34,969 - €52,619 per annum). Salaries are based on full-time working hours (39 hours per week).
