Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our Financial Services Tax team. You will support delivery of complex tax engagements for a diverse client base, providing technical expertise and building strong client relationships.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification with 2-3 years post-qualification experience in financial services tax, and a proactive, client-focused mindset. Opportunities for growth, mentorship, and cross-border advisory work are offered.

Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualified, with 2-3 years' post-qualification experience in a financial services tax environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish tax; Asset Management and/or Insurance experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to build trusted client relationships and collaborate across teams.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with strong commercial awareness, a commitment to continuous learning, and an ambition to develop a career in professional practice.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of financial services clients, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide practical technical support on Irish and international tax matters, reviewing tax returns and computations while ensuring compliance with internal quality and risk procedures.
  • Build strong client relationships by participating in client meetings, responding to queries, and delivering a high standard of client service.
  • Support Managers and Partners in delivering client engagements, identifying opportunities for additional services, and contributing to business development initiatives.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, share technical knowledge, and actively contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Assistant Manager - Financial Services Tax
About the Role

We are looking to hire an Assistant Manager to join our growing Financial Services Tax team at Grant Thornton. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of domestic and international clients, delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services across the financial services sector.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of complex tax engagements, provide technical expertise, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the Financial Services Tax practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of financial services clients, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide practical technical support on Irish and international tax matters, reviewing tax returns and computations while ensuring compliance with internal quality and risk procedures.
