Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking a Senior to join our Financial Services Tax team, handling tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of clients in Ireland and beyond. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic group delivering high-quality tax work in the financial services sector.

The successful candidate will deliver client engagements, develop technical expertise, and build strong client relationships while collaborating with Managers and the wider FS Tax

Qualifications

  • AITI/CTA qualified with 1+ years post-qualification tax practice experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish tax legislation and tax compliance; FS tax experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for financial services clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and review income and corporation tax returns in line with Irish tax law and company requirements.
  • Research technical tax matters and assist in developing practical client solutions.
  • Build strong client relationships by responding to queries and delivering high-quality service.
  • Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and deliver client engagements successfully.

Job description

We are looking to hire a Senior to join our growing Financial Services Tax team at Grant Thornton. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of domestic and international clients, supporting the delivery of high-quality tax compliance and advisory services across the financial services sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering client engagements, developing technical expertise, and building strong client relationships while working closely with Managers and the wider Financial Services Tax team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of financial services clients, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Prepare and review income and corporation tax returns in accordance with Irish tax legislation and company law requirements.
  • Research technical tax matters, identify tax planning opportunities, and assist in developing practical solutions for clients.
  • Build strong client relationships by responding to day-to-day queries and providing timely, high-quality service.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the team, sharing knowledge and contributing to the successful delivery of client engagements.
Skills & Experience
  • AITI/CTA qualified, with 1+ years' post-qualification experience in a tax practice environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish tax legislation, with experience in tax compliance; financial services tax experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client and team relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous learning and developing a career in professional services.
