As the permanent Assistant Director of Nursing, you’ll partner with the Director of Nursing to ensure that clinical excellence, empathy, and innovation define everything the team does. What You Need to Succeed
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) in the General Division.

  • Right to work in Ireland(EU passport or relevant visa).
  • 7+ years post-registration experience, including 2+ years in senior leadership or management (CNM2, CNM3, or equivalent).

  • Holder of a BSc in Nursing Management; MSc in Leadership or Healthcare Management preferred or in progress.

  • Proven experience in acute hospital settings, with strong clinical knowledge across medical, surgical, emergency, or specialist care.

  • A natural people leader, able to inspire multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, and lead change with empathy and authority.

  • Exceptional communicator, capable of building trusting relationships with staff, patients, families, and external stakeholders.

  • Deep knowledge of HIQA standards, patient safety, and clinical governance.
