Job summary

Transport Infrastructure Ireland seeks an Assistant Digital Asset Information Manager to strengthen the asset information framework for the light rail portfolio. You will assist in establishing digital infrastructure and refining asset data to support investment decisions and safety compliance.

You will work with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure accurate records, train staff, and contribute to GIS-based spatial asset records, while maintaining high data quality and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in information management or equivalent.
• At least five years in a responsible position in related fields.
• Two or more years in Asset Management, GIS or BIM related work.
• Familiar with ISO55000, ISO19650 standards and data management.
• Strong stakeholder management and report writing ability.

Job description

Reporting to the Digital Asset Information Manager, the Assistant Digital Asset Information Manager works as part of the Asset Management team within the Light Rail Network Management Section of TII. The individual appointed to this role will assist in contributing to the enhanced utilization of digital technologies and workflows to help realize TII's ambition to ensure asset information is accurate and trusted and is used to develop investment decisions targeted at optimising the value of the light rail asset.

The purpose of the role is to provide delivery capability in establishing the digital infrastructure and refining asset data to support TII's asset management function for light rail. To achieve this, the Assistant Digital Asset Information Manager will assist creating and refining accurate and accessible repositories of digital records related to the light rail asset.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Work with the Digital Asset Information Manager to establish the asset information management framework for light rail.
• Support the Digital Asset Information Manager in work to relating to the adoption an implementation of ISO 55000 for Asset Management across the light rail portfolio.
• Work with colleagues across TII to populate and verify As-Built and Safety File records of the light rail asset to create an accurate and authoritative record.
• Ensure all historical and future asset renewals and network enhancements are accurately collated and recorded, working closely with TII colleagues.
• Audit and validate the quality, completeness and accuracy of asset data held within approved data repositories.
• Deliver key training to staff in the area of Digital Asset Management as agreed with the Senior Asset Manager and the Digital Asset Information Manager. Such training will be used to train staff on the value and benefit of digital asset management workflows and technology solutions.
• Contribute to the development of the spatial record of light rail assets using GIS.
• Support TII's Safety section and respond to TII's obligations as a Railway Organisation through effectively managing asset information required for Safety Management Systems and regulatory compliance.
• To prepare detailed reports and presentations as requested by the Project Manager for Data, Digital and Information Management and/or others.
• To undertake such tasks, activities or other duties as may be required or assigned as appropriate to the grade.

Education & Experience

• A 3rd level professional qualification (NFQ Level 8 or equivalent) in Information Management, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or other relevant discipline;
• At least five years' relevant experience in a responsible position, with a preference for candidates who have some experience in the built environment, light rail, heavy rail or other public infrastructure or operations roles;
• At least 2 years' experience of working in the areas of Asset Management, Digital Construction, Information Management, GIS or BIM;
• Familiarity with key standards relevant to the role such as ISO55000, ISO19650 and standards related to information management and digital engineering;
• Proven ability to communicate, manage and interact with a range of multi-disciplinary stakeholders, including internal and external parties, to ensure project management activities are delivered on time and on budget;
• Good analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving;
• Possess good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills;
• Have good report writing skills together with an ability to produce high quality analysis;
• High level of computer proficiency;
• Knowledge of working on railway operating environments and / or working within safety critical environments;
• A strong commitment to public safety, to the safety of our own staff, and to the safety of those working on our behalf.
