Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Job Description
Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

The aim of this programme is to provide you with the skills to prepare you to return to work or education. It is particularly suited to those who would like to pursue a career in administration, in areas such as social or community work. You will achieve a QQI (Quality & Qualifications Ireland) qualification which will enable you to obtain employment or progress to further education.

All our Youth Work staff work in targeted disadvantaged areas of our region, namely Athlone, Mullingar and Tullamore. General duties include maintaining all social media and digital marketing of the project. Maintaining all social media presences for the project(s); creating publishing content, completing general website maintenance and devising weekly, monthly newsletters and booklets.

Support administration requirements of the project, report writing, photocopying, filing of all paperwork. Post and diary/calendar management and general PR to the project(s). Deal with incoming calls and take appropriate action.

Training will be both on the job and training course led, with opportunities to study from QQI level 3 upwards. There are also a range of developmental opportunities in the areas of Work Experience, Social and Societal Matters and General Life Skills.
