U Value Insulation Group is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team in Ireland. This full-time role focuses on the monthly close, cost and margin analysis, payroll review support, and maintaining strong controls across AR/AP and stock.

The ideal candidate is Part-Qualified or an Accounting Technician with 2–3 years of experience, thrives under pressure, and possesses strong Excel and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Proactive attitude and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Post monthly journals and close processes.

• Assist budgeting and other ad hoc finance tasks.

We are now looking to recruit a full time Assistant Accountant to join the company. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller & Finance team this is a broad hands-on role where your experience and value add skills should make a strong contribution to the U Value Finance team. The role will focus on our distribution businesses and will include the monthly close process, detailed cost analysis including margin analysis, review of payroll data and helping to drive timely and accurate data, processes and controls

The role will be based in Ballycoolin, Dublin 15 initially, however will be based in Dunshaughlin at our new Head Office which is opening very soon!

Key responsibilities & duties:

• Preparation and posting transactions / monthly journals
• Assist Finance Team to ensure timely preparation of monthly management accounts using Intact software
• Detailed workings for cost analysis and variance explanation
• Sales & Margin reconciliation workings.
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Help implement and maintain a robust control environment across the companies with regard to areas such as AR / AP, intercompany balances, control account reconciliations and stock
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Continually evaluate and optimise monthly close and other finance processes, striving to deliver best practice in process automation, efficiencies and improved accuracy
• Help enhance the control environment to ensure efficient/effective controls are operated
• To help manage VAT return workings and submission.
• Assist with the annual audit process for various legal entities
• Assist with the annual budgeting process
• Assist with, or assume responsibility for, other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned

Requirements

• This role would be suitable for a Part-Qualified Accountant or Qualified Accounting Technician with minimum 2-3 years experience ideally in a similar role
• Be results driven and have a proactive "can do" attitude.
• Be able to deal with a large volume of transactions and tight deadlines
• Thrive in a busy, challenging and demanding environment
• Ability to find a positive solution while balancing different stakeholder needs
• Be open to challenge the status quo (i.e. the current way that things are done)
• Have strong attention to detail to ensure completeness and accuracy of information
• Have strong computer and analytical skills; this to include a high level of proficiency in excel
