Job summary

Talbot Hotel Clonmel is seeking an experienced Assistant Accommodation Manager to support the Accommodation Manager in daily operations and to ensure all guest bedrooms and public areas meet the highest standards.

You will deliver exceptional service in line with the Talbot Collection program, supervising housekeeping staff, coordinating rosters, and assisting with payroll and stock control to maintain operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Ideally 2+ years' experience in a similar role.
• Excellent command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the smooth running of the Accommodation Department in line with SOPs, budgets, and legislation.
• Ensure housekeeping staff comply with policy on uniform, hygiene and Health & Safety.
• Support the Accommodation Manager in training and coaching housekeeping staff.
• Assist in creating, updating, and implementing departmental SOPs.
• Monitor daily occupancy, VIP needs and special requirements.
• Coordinate with Reception on room moves, VIP guests and special needs.
• Distribute and check keys, room lists, and cleaning schedules at the start of shifts.
• Monitor daily work by Room Assistants, Linen Porters and Maintenance for quality standards.
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas to maintain hotel standards.
• Ensure maintenance issues are resolved before rooms are released to Front Desk.
• Input weekly roster when needed and assist payroll attendance control.
• Manage stock and supplies to maintain consistent standards.
• Identify recruitment needs and address labour shortages in the department.
