Job summary

Uisce Éireann is seeking an Asset Planning Lead Engineer to define water asset strategies and plans to meet safety, regulatory and business needs. You will engage across internal teams and external stakeholders to prioritise capital investment and ensure value-for-money delivery of water services.

You will lead capital planning for water treatment assets, contribute to asset standards, and promote evidence-based decision making in a dynamic regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant third level qualification or accreditation is desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in water, utilities or similar industries.
• Ability to build and maintain effective strategic partnerships with stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify problems and propose improvements.

Responsibilities

• Support the asset management strategy and development of water services Asset Management Plans.
• Develop understanding of above-ground water infrastructure assets in the region.
• Support the 0-5 year capital investment plan for water treatment assets by prioritising investment to manage risk.
• Define studies and investigations to inform capital investment decisions.
• Identify critical data needs to support decision-making.
• Prepare scheme proposals to address identified shortcomings and reduce portfolio risk.
• Represent Asset Planning in Core Project Team and assist with project lifecycle sign-off.
• Assess water supply capacities and determine how developments can be facilitated.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships to drive evidence-based decision making.
• Contribute to asset standards and best practices in line with regulatory requirements.
