Job summary

Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease, is seeking a Manufacturing Shift Lead in Athlone to guide 24x7 aseptic production. You will lead safe, compliant execution and mentor a shift team across Formulation, Filling and related operations, ensuring patient supply and quality.

Qualifications

Experience in a cGMP aseptic manufacturing environment is required.
Knowledge of vial and syringe filling operations is desirable.
Experience using controlled documentation such as SOPs and batch records.
Confident in making operational decisions and escalating issues when needed.
Strong communication across manufacturing, quality and technical teams.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and guide safe, compliant production execution per schedule and patient supply needs.
Oversee core tasks across Formulation, Compounding, Pooling, Washing and related activities.
Coordinate local shift activities and maintain clear inter-shift communication.
Lead GMP, quality and documentation tasks aligned to cGMP and ALCOA+ principles.
Provide SME leadership to Operations SMEs and shift colleagues; escalate issues as needed.
Mentor teammates, deliver training, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Utilise SAP, TrackWise and digital tools to support procedures and data integrity.
